About me

My name is Veronica Cervilla and I am a writer, mostly of horror. I like scaring people, what can I say? If you are interested in scary stories and how they are written, welcome. From time to time I also get lost in SciFi and fantasy books and films, especially if they are dark.

Here you will find some resources about writing, both for the screen and literary fiction, analysis of films and books, articles about narrative aspects and some fun facts about my work.

Want to know more about me? Well, I was born in Linares, a small town in the south of Spain, an area full of legends and old castles. I was 11 years old when I came across a copy of Carrie by Stephen King and there was no going back after that. I won my first writing contest at the age of 14 and everything went on from there, so I decided to study Film Making & Screenwriting. My personal circumstances made me grow up bilingual (Spanish and English) so I might mix up languages sometimes, sorry in advance. Also, I run the literary magazine Tartarus (no English version of this yet) and teach narrative for video games at a school.

If you have a question o want to suggest a topic to cover on my blog posts, please do not hesitate to let me know. I want my content to be useful and put the horror genre in the top place where it belongs. You can also subscribe to my website to receive free ebooks and a monthly list of the published post.

P.S: If you don’t have time to read long books, follow me on Instagram and read the flash fiction I post weekly.
